Frequently Asked Questions

Click here for walker runner Q & A

Q: What type of organizations participate in the Human Race?
A: Any 501c3 organization which serves McHenry County can participate. All organizations wishing to join the Human Race should complete the Organization Registration Form.

Q: How does the Human Race benefit nonprofit organizations?
A: The Human Race is a great way for small to mid size nonprofits to raise money. No need to hire a staff to take care of all the planning. Not-For-Profit Resources will take care of all the details. All an organization needs to do is invite their supporters to walk/run and raise pledges on their behalf.

Q: Do the nonprofits pay any fees to join the Human Race?

A: Organizations are required to pay a $50 registration fee (after Feb 10, 2012 $75). Non-members pay $75 /$100.

Q: What are the percentages money participating organizations receive?

Q: What is the deadline for nonprofit organizations to join the Race?

A: For optimal fundraising, organizations are encouraged to sign up beginning November 15. The latest an organization can register is April 10 (registering later will impact an organization's participation in some media coverage).

Q: How is the money collected?

A: Organizations recruit pledge getters. The pledge getters turn the money in to the organization (all checks should be made out to Not-For-Profit Resources or NFPR). All money collected is then turned in to NFPR. In June at the Celebration Breakfast money and prizes are awarded to participating charities.
